With that said I cannot keep this hidden gem to itself. The developers and publishers aught to be applauded for their pricing and respect they pay to their fans when this game released. This is a massive standalone/expansion I've seen in years. The quality is top notch, the updated UI is so much cleaner. The graphics are so crisp, it runs beautifully and very well optimized. The voice acting is damn good, The lore bleeds throughout the game, its just a masterclass in RPG / Strategy mix that you won't get anywhere else. I applaud you Grimlore Games, this game is fantastic and I hope you get the sales and respect you deserve.. I have played the first Spellforce 3 when it first came out, enjoying every aspect of it, despite the bugs, when I first heard that they would be revamping both the gameplay and the factions themselves, I waited with cautious optimism, partly worried that it might kill the game for me.However, I was glad to see that there was no need, the game is an improvement in nearly every way over the first Spellforce 3- Faction revamps, making them more unique and giving them each a specific playstyle.- The new factions, with the Dark Elves being a new favourite.- The Gameplay revamp, with the resource system being streamlined.- The new story from what I have played so far, does not disappoint.- The Mercenaries Mechanic, allowing you to create a custom character of 3 races and any class combo you wish (hopefully they will add the Morhir Elves and Orcs as races), with great potential to be used in the future.- Spellforce 3's composer returned to make more excellent music (that main menu music sets a excellent mood)There is so far one bug (at the time of writing) that makes it hard to create an account or sign in to play online, which I am sure the Devs are working on fixing as soon as possible (considering their track record with the first game), others may have found bugs and have listed them in their reviews, or are being reported to the devs on their discordI highly recommend this game, and thank you devs for sticking with the Spellforce series. Solid gameMy review only refers to the campaign because I do not like playing the multiplayer due to the slow, confusing and limited strategy section. The reason for this is the sector system. Now for the review:I also liked to play through the predecessor. The second part has some improvements, including the co-op gameplay, the RPG elements, and the strategy sectionAs.Improvements coop:- up to 3 people at the same time- own hero for the co-op players- The progress of your hero is saved at the co-op player- he can also use his hero in his own campaignImprovement RPG:- better action bar- better control of hero skills- interesting revision of the skilltreesImprovement strategy section:- Purification of the sector system and resource generation- worked out differences in the fractionsThe relationship between RPG and strategy is still too far on the RPG side. The Endgame they have completely neglected. It would have been possible so much.Proposals:- Crown lands are randomly attacked and taken. The player must take her back in strategy battles ann. The attackers should also have heroes who grow with their own character in terms of equipment and attribute points.- Infinite random missions on the mission board. (Dungeons with final bosses, badite hunts, monster hunts, rescue missions, etc.)- The re-conquest missions, dungeons and orders from the board are then rewarded with random loot from a lootable and randomly generated loot. What I do not like at all is that in the people the basic unit with leather armor, simple sword and wooden sign was removed. I thought that looked so awesome. :)Furthermore, I would like to have in the campaign and the orcs and elves to choose from strategy slaughter had. Conclusion:All in all, the game was worth the money. Especially with the loyalty pack for 15 . cheap :). unfortunately no endgame and the deficits mentioned above.i will now check the changes of the orcs and elves in the multiplayer and then the game will be uninstalled again.if you are not a fan of the sector system in strategy games, you can play it only once and then uninstall it.Nevertheless, playing through was fun. very clear purchase recommendation.. Good to be back. I realy like it. Looks beautifull, you are right back into the mood of the game. The strategy part seems more streamlined faster easier to grasp and handle. over all for the first few steps i am happy to have something new play and explore. for all fans: its a clear improvement compared to part 3 and well worth playing.. This game brings all the other games mechanics back together is a very good way. Wasn't initially happy about having to purchase it in the way it was released but if you own the first you do get a nice discount which was appropriate. The game itself runs smooth, mechanics are well implemented and is a very positive addition to the franchise. Job well done for the team. Would highly suggest it.. I don't normally write reviews, Mainly because there is barely any games lately worth writing a review from. BUT THIS GAME, GUYS! It hit all the points of RPG mixed with RTS and they gave us an amazing story and the ability to make our character. Granted there isn't many customization options but still creating a character was what was missing from the first one as well as how easy it is to buy the schematics for all the races. It's beautiful to be able to get them all from a merchant rather than having to scour every little piece of each level to ensure you find each one and to have some you didn't have pop up at the very end of the game like in SP3 that you couldn't even use. Picking two classes to have to level together is just as amazing as well. This game i hope has some more story and features added on to it cause it's absolutely wonderful. I've been a spellforce fan for a very long time and was kind of sad about SP3 but they def had a major come back with this one. Is there a few bugs? Yes. but nothing that they won't fix i'm sure. Plus they added modding options which is great too. They did everything right with this game! I've boasted about it on every channel of social media i have because it's so wonderful. The current cons to this game is that some of the quest rewards aren't really worth it. Customization doesn't have many options. It would be nice to have some battlemage armors that don't make you look like a brick and give me some amazing wands that look as cool as the wintermage one! lol. It's just a great game and so worth the buy.To the company THANK YOU so much for the loyalty price. I can't thank you enough for that.. Fantastic so far. Absolutely fantastic.I'm personally practically in love with the RPG systems in place. You pick two of the 9 classes to make a character, each class has different things you might want from it. One side of a tree might be different than the other side of it. Light magic has healing/buffs and on the other side has anti undead and some holy magic nukes. Offensive tactics isnt just for warriors, it has passives that help ANY class with skill power, focus regen. I just keep reading small things in skill tooltips and think "Man that would make a cool combo with x class". Something that makes me want to tinker with tons of characters is that. Every unique two classes you put together to make a character gives a unique skill. So Necromancer/demonologist makes a giant flesh golem. Wizard/archers get explosive arrows. Offensive/defensive warriors get reposte and gain crit chance after blocking attacks (or something like that, might not be blocks)The stats are a little versatile as wellStrength doesnt just give you damage. It increases health regen and base physical resistances. Is also required for some equipment.Dex doesnt just give ranged damage. It gives damage on daggers and spears, crit and block chance. And it also gives skill cooldown reduction.Int. Is a little more straight forward, skills that are based on int scale with int, but also gives focus regen.Willpower gives magic resistance, willpower based skill power, max focus (and maybe focus regen too, cant remember. But with these systems in place, theres so many different ways you can approach each class. I currently have a dex tank maxing shield block chance and taunts. A willpower melee dps druid/warrior and my main character is a bard/priest that also uses heavy armor and a greatsword. The rpg system is just SO well done. So much flexibility, so many compliments in different corners of each class that go with thinks you wouldnt think of upon glancing over them the first time.I'm having fun with the campaign as well so far. Still on the first "big" mission where you have actual rts vs rts battles. It's taking a while and I'm having a decently fun time hording units and attack moving them. From what I have available so far there's not TOO much microing you need to do for pve at least. Double click a unit type and press their hotkey to get all units to use that ability. Its neat seeing all my axemen hold their shields up and stop taking damage from the enemy archer fire. Not sure how well the game pans out in the long run, but I had my hands on the other game and this one just seems to not suffer from the shortcomings of the previous title. Havent tried MP, hopefully the hero classes in that arent boring like last time too.Either way, this games great. And for its price point I cant see a fault in it really.. Great game, plays smoothly.. So much better than the original one!!!!. thumbs up from me Out now: Stand-alone expansion SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest!: Out now: Stand-alone expansion SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest launches on Steam!
